Remote Proctor Pro - How it Works
Install: Student connects the Remote Proctor device to their computer, downloads the Securexam software from the Software Secure site and navigates to their institution’s course management system (Blackboard, Moodle, eCollege, etc).
Enroll: After gaining access to the CMS, the student then enrolls the Remote Proctor 360 device. Remote Proctor 360 collects students’ uniquely identifying information: a fingerscan and photograph.
Authenticate: Before taking exam, Remote Proctor 360 engages and prompts student to provide the biometric information collected during enrollment process. If the students’ biometric data is a match to the data provided during the enrollment process, the Securexam lockdown software engages while an encrypted password is automatically populated in the CMS providing access to the exam.
Take an Exam: Once in the exam, the student uses the Course Management System functionality. Behind the scenes, the Remote Proctor 360 device is recording all sound and motion and delivering the data to Software Secure servers for later review by Certified Video Review Specialists. These specialists are trained to Software Secure standards, and are fully versed in the Remote Proctor 360 administrative system.
Video Review: Post-exam, the audio and video of test-takers exam experience is available for reviewing . Multiple members of Software Secure's team of Certified Video Review Experts review each exam to facilitate quick efficient and accurate review of each exam. In all cases, the final decision rests with the customer as to what constitutes cheating.
